Day 120 – People inspire you, or they drain you – pick wisely. – Hans F. Hansen

I am at the 4 month mile mark. Time has really flown by. This blog has shown me with determination and laser beam focus that every day I am going to do this. I will write three things that make me happy and my life here in LA both the positive and negative.

The days that I write and I make a blog post later in the day, I get really antsy. Keep saying to myself, “Okay, Felecia, you have a post to write. Let’s get the molasses out your ass and write this post.” I find the time. Whether I’m on the train to work  writing my on the cell phone or in the break room at work, I write.

Let No One Steal Your Joy Sunday three things that make me happy.

1.  Realizing that I matter.

2. I have value. I have something to share with the world. It took me a few years to figure out what it was, I love working with my hands. Whether its writing, making candles or bath and body products. It’s the reason I’m starting my business, I want to spend the rest of my life doing those things.

3. Sharing those creations (candle and bath and body) with the world.

Day 119 – I used to need anger management, now I just stop letting people piss me off. – Felecia Scott

luckTonight’s blog I’m going to keep short. I’m writing it on my lunch break. This morning I went to the beach and had breakfast on the beach watching the sunrise. I had the place all to myself and loved it. I’m going to do this once a month.

I was running a little behind this morning because of my beach excursion which is why I’m writing this blog post now.

Three things that make me happy.

1. Having breakfast on the beach. (Next time I will take a picture).

2. Watching the sunrise from the Hollywood Hills. I need to schedule that trip again. I’ll take a few pictures.

3. Sitting on the Santa Barbara sea wall watching the sunset in the harbor. I’m going to take a whole bunch more pictures to my next excursion to Santa Barbara.

Day 118 – Happy Black Friday

I had a blast yesterday for Thanksgiving. I ate delicious food with great friends and got a little tipsy. On my way to see friends, I went by a  Walmart. It was around 11 am yesterday and people were already lining up at Walmart waiting for Black Friday to begin at 6 AM this morning. Have a look.

Here’s Black Friday’s three things that make me happy:

1. Black Friday at Barnes and Nobles. I’m leaving for Santa Monica right after I finish this blog post. I love the Barnes and Nobles their. I’m an avid reader some really good deals are going on there.

2. When I get those little butterflies of excitement in my stomach.

untitled (17)3. Snow cones, yesterday it was 80 degrees. My friend Alicia made shaved ice snow cones at her house. You’ve never seen so many adults excited to get a snow cone, sipping and slurping them down (me included).

I ate mine so fast, I got a brain freeze. I started laughing because when I had opened my Alicia had her own brain freeze.

She said, “You’d think by now we know better but this damn snow cones taste so good, I forget every once in a while.”

Day 117 – Happy Turkey Day

This one of the many the many Thanksgiving dinner I will be having tonight.

This one of the many the many Thanksgiving dinner I will be having tonight. I will also have gravy on my turkey and sopping up the gravy with my dinner roll. .

Today, I have an early start. I’m going to be making the dinner circuit. Many of my friends have invited me to their house for dinner. One of my favorite memories of Thanksgiving was at the dinner table. All my relatives and family friends were there. My father would say grace. “Thank you Lord for all of us being here today. Now let’s eat!”

It makes me laugh. My mother looked like she wanted to choke him but we laughed it off and started eating. Today’s post is going to be short. I have a busy day in front of me.

Three things that make me happy and that I’m thankful for.

1. The friends that I have made here in LA that have become family to me. They have been gracious enough to open their homes to me.

2. As I walked home from the metro last night. On the side of the road was a homeless man who made a make shift tent out of cardboard. I remember when I was homeless. I said a prayer for him to get off the street and a prayer of thanks for me as I entered my apartment and embraced the warmth of my apartment. I have a safe place to sleep.  Which is truly a blessing.

3. At this time in my life I can actually say I am actually thankful for with genuine sincerity. That feels pretty good. As my son would say “Awesome Sauce!”

Day 116 – Always Laugh When You Can. It’s Cheap Medicine.

At work last night, my co-worker Shantall came up with a new word “hangry” A combination of two words hungry and angry. I loved it. I thought it was cute, funny and pretty accurate of description of what happens when you are hungry.

It’s hump day (Wednesday) three things that make me happy.

1. Yes, I was finally able to capture some of the colorful people that I get to see on the metro, especially the blue line that goes from LA to Long Beach. This man had hair the colors of the rainbow. They actually matched the color of his umbrella. Have a look.

2. Laughing until my stomach hurts and I’m gasping for breath with tears in my eyes. Now that’s a good life.

3. Drooling in your sleep. Maybe it’s just me but when I wake up with drool on the side of my face, I say to myself, “Damn, I was knocked out. Damn, that was some good sleep.

Question: When was the last time you drooled in your sleep?

Day 114 – I came from a family where gravy was considered a beverage. – Erma Bombeck

This is a nectarine brandy that my brother made.

This is a nectarine brandy that my brother made.

Turkey day is Thursday. My mother is the third of nine children. The holidays for my family  were loud. A whole lot of laughter mixed with a few spats and I loved every moment.

What I enjoyed the most about Thanksgiving was being in the kitchen with my mother cooking. The fun conversations we had. The gossip she would tell me about her friends and a few juicy tidbits about my own that I didn’t know.

Three things that make me happy the Thanksgiving edition:

1. My mother teaching me the family corn bread stuffing recipe. I’ve tried making it but…it doesn’t taste like my mothers or my grandmothers.  So I buy mine Vons supermarket. It’s pretty decent and then I doctor it up and put my own spin on it. I have to admit, it’s pretty damn good.

This is mango brandy. I told him it looked like strawberry.

This is mango brandy. I told him it looked like strawberry.

2. Cold oven pound cake. It’s was grandmother’s recipe. We only make it during the holidays. You can’t pre heat the over. It must be cold. You turn it on when the cake is the oven. It’s take forever to bake because the oven is at 300 degrees. It’s a pain in the ass to make but the cake literally melts in your mouth. It’s scrumptious. The scent entices and fills the house. Your mouth starts salivating.

3. My family has this great brandy recipe. My mother, brother and one of uncles have perfected their technique and make really great brandy. It’s for personal consumption. We don’t sell it (Uncle Sam don’t get your panties in a bunch). I’ve posted two pictures of the brandy. Tell me what you think?

Day 113 – Smile, it’s good for the soul.

Walking from the bus stop a few blocks from where I work is the 3rd Street Promenade. It’s a huge tourist attraction in Santa Monica. What do I see? As you all know I have a massive sweet tooth. A new candy store had just opened called, :”It’s Sugar”.

I bought some mini cherry gummies, which I didn’t know they still make. I haven’t seen them since I was a little girl. I also purchased a lollipop and gummy fish. If you are ever in Santa Monica, I highly recommend stopping by It’s Sugar. Located on the 3rd Street Promenade just north of Broadway.

Monday’s three things that make me happy:

1. I found my new candy shop. It’s Sugar and as you can see from the pictures, it’s Candyland for adults. There was a ton of candy that I haven’t seen since I was snot nosed little tomboy giving my mother fits because I wouldn’t wear a dress.

2. There’s another spot I love going to Shop House Kitchen. The owners of Chipotle own this restaurant. It’s a create your own rice/salad/noodle bowl. I’m going there for lunch so I will take some pictures and you can see. It’s located in the 3rd Street Promenade on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and 3rd Street Promenade. Talk about yum.

3. Getting home safely from work at night. I don’t get off work until late. I don’t arrive home until well after 1 AM. I take precautions walking down well lit streets. I have my pepper spray. I live pretty close to my stop, it’s not a far walk home. It’s about a two minute walk.

Day 112 – Joy Stealers Suck!

This is the Roman Goddess Artemis. She's my favorite deity to work with.

This is the Roman Goddess Artemis. She’s my favorite deity to work with.

Some of my friends, well now have become acquaintances have felt the need to try and convert me to their religious preference.  Here’s what happened this morning.

I was blindsided she showed up with Bible in hand. I lost track of how many times that I’ve been told I’m going to hell. There is only one true God and in order for me to go into heaven I must repent my sins, renounce all false and become saved.

My belief is my belief. You don’t have to agree with it but don’t try to put me or convert me because you believe that you’re religion is the only one. Because you know what, you’re not helping your cause.

I’m still shaken up by what just happened not long ago. I’ll be keeping my distance from her. I wasn’t going to share this, I could keep quiet. I needed to express how I felt and yes vent too.

Let’s get into Sunday’s three things that make me happy

1. Praying and giving my worries up the God and Goddess.

2. Working with my favorite deity, Goddess Artemis. Since I’m a nature pagan. She’s a nature goddess, it’s why my bond with her is so strong.

3. My belief is my belief and its what gives me strength and helping me become a better person.

Day 111 – I love finding money in my clothes. It’s like a gift to me…from me.

I can admit it. This used to be me a Nillionaire.

I can admit it. This used to be me a Nillionaire.

I’ve been reading and doing the exercises in The Spiritual Guide to Attracting Prosperity. One of the relationships, I wanted to change was with money. When it came time to pay my bills (yesterday), I said, thank you for having more than enough to pay my bills, take care of my mother and open my candle business. Believe it or not it felt good. I really did have more than enough.

Here are today’s three things that make me happy:

images3LK88LHS1. Over the last several months I have been paying off and down the balance of few outstanding bills. I’m in a better position now financially than where I was at the beginning of the year.

2. Finding money that I thought I had lost or misplaced. I remember this one time I was looking for this $20 bill. I knew I had it but I didn’t know where I placed it. I found it pulling out my ID card in wallet. I tucked it in there.

3. I’m handling my money better. Sticking to my budget. I give myself a weekly allowance. Which has made a difference. For example, if a I have an extra $100 bucks I don’t go and blow it all on bullshit. I take $60.00 and put in my rainy day fund or mutual fund.

Day 110 – Spread a little love. Spread a little joy. Spread a little happiness.

Southern California is known for gorgeous sunsets. Last night at work, we had a scenic sunset that all the guests were talking about. I was able to snap a couple of pictures for you. Oh and last night, I went to sleep with Christmas music on. No more boob shrinking dreams from last night.

Good morning everyone. Here is the Friday edition of three things that make me happy.

1. As I stated above Southern California is known for it’s sunsets but I love taking pictures of the ones that are really striking and unique.

Attracting Prosperity2. I got another book today in the mail, this time from my mother. I was so thrilled. “The Spiritual Guide to Attracting Prosperity” by Carolyn Boyes. When she saw this book, a feeling came over her and knew that I had to have this book. I love it.

3. Spreading a little love, spreading a little joy and spreading a little happiness.

Have a great weekend everyone.
